Dr. Doby was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended Howard University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree and found a passion for dentistry. From there, she attended The University of Texas where she accomplished her Doctoral Degree in Dental Surgery. A few years into being a general dentist, Dr. Doby found a love for pediatric dentistry. In 1997, she graduated from Children’s Hospital of Michigan with her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry, and began her journey treating children.
Dr. Doby has been practicing pediatric dentistry for over 20 years in both private practices and public health facilities. Serving and educating children and their parents on the importance of maintaining good oral health is of utmost importance to her.
Dr. John Vinckier is from the small town of Yale, Michigan, located in the “thumb area.” He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2015. Dentistry runs in Dr. John’s family, as both his oldest sister and mother are general dentists. Dr. John has practiced in both Illinois and Michigan.
When Dr. Vinckier is not working, he enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, 4 siblings, 7 nieces and nephews (all under the age of 6!). Dr. John provides dental care for both adults and children, but truly enjoys the pediatric side of dentistry and making the children’s appointments as enjoyable as possible.
Dr. Vogel grew up in Sterling Heights, MI. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She stayed on at UM for dental school, receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2000. Dr. Vogel has worked in OH, CA, and MI, treating both adults and children. However, early on in her career, she realized her true passion was taking care of children and their oral hygiene needs.
Dr. Vogel has spent over 15 years providing general dentistry services to children and adolescents. When not a work, Dr. Vogel enjoys spending time with her family – which includes 3 sisters and 7 nieces and nephews! She is a fan of the Tigers, Lions, and Winnipeg Jets. She enjoys reading, exercising, and cats!

WHY AGE 7?
As a preventive orthodontic office, we like to examine the children in our patient’s family by age seven. Usually, no orthodontic treatment will be needed at this time. However, by making use of early interceptive methods, or, in some cases, even before they occur, early evaluations can sometimes prevent the need for full braces later.
Often children within a family exhibit certain predictable patterns of growth in much of the same way they inherit similar eye and hair color. Like other family traits, particular patterns of tooth and jaw development also "run in families."
We frequently find that parents feel they do not need to have younger children examined by us unless their general dentist or children’s dentist makes a referral. We do not find that dentists recognize the same problems that we do, any more than we would recognize some of the problems that they look for in general dentistry. True, we are all dentists, but the specialty of orthodontics is complex and specialized.
Have Your Children Examined By Age 7 – Free of Charge
With these facts in mind, we hope you will have all your children examined by age seven so that we can give your family the maximum dental care they deserve. In the interest of prevention, we are happy to offer all initial examinations and follow-up recall visits at no charge. If you would like to take advantage of this offer please tell our Scheduling Coordinator. They will be glad to set up a convenient appointment time for you. We look forward to seeing you and having the opportunity to start your child on the road to a future full of smiles!
